Saber Power Services seeks a professional, dedicated individual with a positive outlook for our Procurement Specialist position.

Job Description:

The candidate will maintain inventory by preparing purchase orders and bid requests; adding received goods to inventory; maintaining information systems and historical references. This position is located near Houston, Texas. A great city with a strong economy and a great cost of living. Relocation packages available. Our offices are located south of Houston in the Pearland vicinity.

Duties:

  • Maintains master file of stock items by assigning numbers to new stock items; updating specification files; recording reorder point information.
  • Completes purchase requests by verifying inventory and specifications of purchase requests; preparing stock and equipment requisitions; inputting purchase orders and bid and service requests; expediting deliveries.
  • Maintains service contracts for office equipment by accepting requests; contacting vendors; recording contract billing.
  • Verifies warehouse inventory by inputting and adding supplies received to current inventory levels.
  • Maintains historical reference of supplies, equipment, and services by keeping records of items and services purchased, prices, delivery and shipping costs, and product or service acceptability.
  • Recommends bills for payment by verifying bills from suppliers against bids and purchase orders.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.


  • Required Skiills:

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a procurement/buying role
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage job responsibilities in a virtual environment with minimal supervision
  • Ability to multi-task and perform effectively in a dynamic, fast paced, changing environment
  • Excellent time management skills - manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet team performance cadence (PO acknowledgements; PR/PO notes updates; PO on-time-delivery (OTD) confirmation; resolution of URDNs, Blocked Invoices, Call Center Tickets, open QNs and ZPWork flows.
  • Strong interpersonal and influential skills with proven ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal internal customers and suppliers and understanding how to identify and escalate issues
  • Proficiency to perform and comprehend price and cost analysis, source selection/justification, analysis of supplier quotation
  • Demonstrated understanding of all phases of sourcing and procurement execution
  • Demonstrated Leadership skills – influence, presence, ability to interface internally and with suppliers
  • Demonstrated ability to place and manage high volume of purchase orders of medium complexity including documentation.
  • Negotiation skills (internal, across the businesses; external with suppliers) - ability to lead formal negotiations and teleconferences (price, schedule and supplier exceptions to contractual flow down requirements, i.e., Terms and Conditions)
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly assimilate new information, processes and tools and adapt to change.
  • Ability to build relationships and effectively collaborate across the enterprise in a virtual environment

  • Required Education:

    Bachelor’s degree in Supply chain, Business Management or a related field.
